Based in Buenos Aires and Santiago, Magdalena Alonso Rebollo is an Argentine designer and art director who studied type design at the University of Buenos Aires and has twenty years of experience across branding, editorial design, and visual communication. Much of her work focuses on social causes and vulnerable communities in Latin America: she currently consults for UNICEF and previously led visual communication at IOM Chile (UN Migration). Her typeface Caacupé grew from field research in Villa 21-24, one of Buenos Aires's largest villas (working-class urban neighborhoods), translating its hand-painted signage into type, with Guaraní support. She runs Russa Estudio.
